Today was originally supposed to be Healy Pass hike in Banff National Park, Alberta Canada. I really didn’t want to do another full day hike that was considered moderately difficult. Hard to say how hard it would be, lol! Already did a couple of those!
So we changed up our plans! Instead Zebidiah and I decided to do the Agnes Tea House hike in the morning and then we would part ways and meet up again in the evening at the High Rollers Banff bowling alley. The Lake Agnes tea house hike was great! Uphill the entire way but totally doable. The view was amazing!! It even started snowing. Not to mention, finding a tea house at the top of your hike is pretty cool! I had a tea and Zeb had a hot chocolate. Very nice touch!
After lunch is when we split. Zeb dropped me off at Banff Trail Rides and I did a horseback trail ride with a cowboy style cookout! It was really fun! My horse was named Latte and had a bit of an attitude. On the way out we were second horse and he just wanted to moosy along! Then he we trot to catch up, lol. We climbed and defended hills, saw amazing scenery, and heard interesting stories about how Banff came into being. Once we arrive at Three Mile Cabin I attempted to lasso, but without success!! The meal was amazing!! The steak was DELICIOUS!! So was the garlic butter & cornbread muffins. Topped with hot apple cider! Yummmm….
Then on the way back we were relocated to the back, only followed up by the other trail guide. Latte wasn’t lovin that! Latte kept trying to make his way up past Beetlejuice, who was in front of us. Latte would just shake his head when I pulled the reins. (He’s a western style trained horse) On the way back we also saw a heard of elk! Huge antlers!!! I ran out of film and attempted a couple phone photos.
While I did the horse ride Zeb went on another hike starting from Lake Louise called the Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse. He just wrapped up and is heading to the bowling alley to meet me now!
